Falling Again

I always hate to see the summer fading away, but it really is fun taking pictures in the fall. Wendy and I went for a walk around Provo today. I wanted to get some pictures before all the leaves are gone, and she needs to stay on her feet for the last few months of her pregnancy. I'm editing my pictures, and she's now watching baseball..... I have the coolest wife ever!

Kristin and Andy

One of my good friends, Kristin Hunt, married Andy Cartwright this summer. They had a beautiful wedding in Salt Lake City and I was thrilled to be able to take their pictures for them.

Under the Sun

Perhaps more than anything else, we've been looking forward to being on Dad's boat this summer. Ok, maybe that's just me. But it's one of my favorite things to do. After about a month in the shop and a new engine, we finally got on the lake this weekend. Sports photography is one of my favorites. This is my brother Jeff throwing it down.

Little People

For the 4th we spent some time with my family. While we didn't get to go boating because of some mysterious recurring engine problems, we still had a lot of fun. And of course I used the occasion to take some pictures of some nieces and nephews we hadn't seen for a while, because really, you can't go wrong photographing these kids.

A Flash of Light

I'm in the process of shooting a wedding for a friend, and as I got further into it I realized if I was going to pull off a half way decent job, I needed a little more lighting power. Say Hello to my new FLASH! Today I had some time to mess around with it and I think I have found a new friend.

A More Abstract Apple

A few more sights from the Big Apple

Big Apple and Brotherly Love

With school finally finished, at least for a year or so, I was able to get my camera out again. After blowing off the dust and taking a quick refresher, it all feels familiar once again. I'm looking forward to the summer, and getting my camera out more often. Wendy and I celebrated our graduation and kicked off the summer with a trip to New York and Philadelphia. These are some of the sights...

A Phillies game. I'm more of a Dodgers fan myself, but I love sports, and what better way to spend an evening in Philly than enjoying one of America's favorite pastimes.

History. One of the oldest standing neighborhoods in downtown Philadelphia.

Central Park. A stroll through the park was a black and white contrast from the city that never sleeps.

Sunny Mountain

We spent this past weekend up in Park City with my family.  It was a short trip, but we managed to get sunburned faces and enjoy a couple of days on the mountain.  I had hoped to take a lot of pictures, but I found that snowboarding is one of those things that distracts me from my camera. These are a couple of my favorites.

A Piece of Heritage

With school coming to an end, and due dates approaching, I find myself with less and less time to get out and take any pictures. Summer will be a very welcomed change. I had a little bit of time on Saturday so I took a drive around the backside of Utah lake. There are a bunch of very small rural towns such as Genola, Goshen, and Elberta on the drive. Interestingly, my grandparents grew up in Genola before moving to California, so it was a bit of a historical trek as well. These are a few pictures of some old buildings that caught my eye.

A Day at the Fields

Lacrosse is a sport I know very little about. To be honest, until today, I don't think I had ever watched it before. BYU plays on a field pretty close to our house, and on a sunny Saturday afternoon, it was a perfect occasion to snap a few photos. This was the first time I've ever tried shooting targets that move so fast. Quite frankly, most of my targets don't move at all. It turned out to be a challenge, but I had a lot of fun. On a different note, lacrosse seems like a pretty cool sport. With the brutality of a hockey match, and the quickness of a soccer game, you really can't go wrong.

About Me

My photo
I'm a biology student at Brigham Young University. I'm graduating this April and plan on submitting my application to Podiatry school shortly after. When I'm not consumed with school one of my favorite things is photography. I love being able to capture the beauty of the world. Everything I do is purely for my entertainment and sanity. My wife Wendy and I have a blog at stevenandwendy.blogspot.com where we post pictures that have more to do with us and our life. She didn't want me to take it over with abstract photos, hence the reasoning for this blog. I hope you enjoy
